This study focuses on the enunciative posture that Emmanuel Macron constructs as President of the French Republic from his first speech to African youth, in Ouagadougou in 2017, to the “Nouveau Sommet Afrique-France” in Montpellier in 2021. The ethos of proximity reveals that of integrity, which is effective in winning the trust of the Burkinabe public. The unfiltered debate that followed his speech in Burkina Faso suggests a format of engaged participation that inspires the realisation of the “Nouveau Sommet”, whose aim is to reinvest in Franco-African relations through a rhetoric of seduction.

Abstract
This study focuses on the enunciative posture that Emmanuel Macron constructs as President of the French Republic from his first speech to African youth, in Ouagadougou in 2017, to the “Nouveau Sommet Afrique-France” in Montpellier in 2021. The ethos of proximity reveals that of integrity, which is effective in winning the trust of the Burkinabe public. The unfiltered debate that followed his speech in Burkina Faso suggests a format of engaged participation that inspires the realisation of the “Nouveau Sommet”, whose aim is to reinvest in Franco-African relations through a rhetoric of seduction.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
