Our objective is to study one of the oldest and deepest-rooted professional languages that have been incorporated into the Spanish language, the language of seafarers. We propose to study the immense cultural universe referred to the marine world contained in the phraseological units (UF) and paremiological to give proof of the richness, so extraordinary, of the marine language. Its importance derives from the development of maritime science, from the art of navigation, from nautical technology and from a culture, from a society of fishermen, from the popular wisdom of a remote era, which manifests its feelings, its life through metaphorical expressions. Thus, we want to study a typology of professional language or technolect, namely, the marine one, as a result of the growing interest in specialized communication. The study of marine technolect, through phraseology and paremiology of metaphorical creation, both the markedly cultural one and also the one that resides in experience and direct observation of reality, is also extremely interesting from the point of view cognitive.
