Mecanismos arcaicos en la estructura de un fenomeno de la cultura de masas: el caso del “Pulcino Pio”

The article analyzes the structure of the text of the popular Italian hit “Chicken Pio”, which had incredible success in 2012. The main characteristics of a clip (form, content, sound and image), which play an important role in its perception by viewers, are described. Based on the analysis, it is concluded that perception of this clip is influenced by the same archaic models that are reflected in traditional folklore texts (counting rhymes, spells, cumulative fairy tales). An important role is also played by the plot of the clip (a static listing of animals) and its hero – achicken, whose symbolism is also archetypal.
