Abstract

Some mss. prove Constantine Lascaris’ (1433/1434-1501) interest in Oppian’s Halieutica. Most likely both for philological and didactical purposes, he wrote a prose paraphrase of the first three books and portion of the fifth of this poem during his stay in Messina. The aim of this paper is to present the critical text of this hitherto unpublished work from ms. Matr. 4616, cc. 182r-186r, along with some remarks.
