Pseudo-Jerome’s Breviarium in Psalmos is a compilatory commentary on the Psalter, which makes extensive use of Jerome’s Commentarioli in Psalmos and Tractatus in Psalmos and of the anonymous Glosa Psalmorum ex traditione seniorum, as well as of other unknown sources. This article aims to demonstrate how its exegesis of Ps 37,1-11 derives from Rufin’s Latin translation of Origen’s first homily on Psalm 37, as suggested by Vera Fravventura in 2017. Moreover, an in-depth analysis of the exegesis of Ps 37,2 is given, underlining its Stoic elements and suggesting a hypothesis to explain their presence.

Abstract
Pseudo-Jerome’s Breviarium in Psalmos is a compilatory commentary on the Psalter, which makes extensive use of Jerome’s Commentarioli in Psalmos and Tractatus in Psalmos and of the anonymous Glosa Psalmorum ex traditione seniorum, as well as of other unknown sources. This article aims to demonstrate how its exegesis of Ps 37,1-11 derives from Rufin’s Latin translation of Origen’s first homily on Psalm 37, as suggested by Vera Fravventura in 2017. Moreover, an in-depth analysis of the exegesis of Ps 37,2 is given, underlining its Stoic elements and suggesting a hypothesis to explain their presence.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
