Abstract
The story of what has intellectually united, and divided, Croce and Huizinga, two of the most distinguished thinkers of the first half of the twentieth century, is the story of a “missed relationship”. The landscape within which the reasons for this apparent lack of mutual recognition become intelligible is philosophical in character. In this respect, their different conceptions of historicism play a decisive role. In a meta-critical fashion, this essay seeks to explore the theoretical and the existential significance of a striking intellectual silence.File in questo prodotto:
