The Archaeological Multidisciplinary Project at Maasser el-Shouf - Qalaat el-Hoson (MeSAP) aims to the reconstruction of the mountain landscapes and settlement dynamics concerning the High Shouf (Lebanon), which has always been a crossroad between the Beqaa valley and the Mediterranean coast. The archaeological site of Qalaat el-Hosn is located near Maasser el-Shouf and the cedar forest. The results of the archaeological activities allowed to identify a temple, extraction and processing areas and numerous rock-cut tombs. MeSAP, in collaboration with DGA, codirector of the project Myriam Ziadé and local authorities, is engaged since 2018 in promoting participatory archaeology and sustainable tourism; in the safeguard of cultural heritage and in boosting the area’s outstandingly rich archaeological legacy.

Abstract
