The contribution quickly reviews the use of Latin in the authors who dealt with mathematical sciences from Antiquity to the threshold of the XVIIIth century, focusing on the periods which, in conjunction with particular cultural, economic or technological changes, witnessed a swifter transformation of the language.
Il contributo passa in rassegna a volo d’uccello l’uso del latino negli autori che hanno praticato le scienze matematiche dall’Antichità fino alle soglie del Settecento, soffermandosi in particolare sui periodi che, in concomitanza con importanti mutamenti culturali, economici o tecnologici, hanno assistito a una piú rapida trasformazione della lingua.
