This essay aims to analyze one of the works that, while appearing among Pier Paolo Pasolini’s major poetic collections, has primarily been viewed as a preparatory step toward his later major works: L’usignolo della Chiesa Cattolica, published in 1958 but written between 1943 and 1949. This study seeks to show how Pasolini, publishing the above collection in the late 1950s, partly for reasons unrelated to him, but working on it unceasingly, accomplished a historical rereading of his own poetry in Italian before his move to Rome. In doing so, he offered an interpretation of his inner turmoil to the point of detachment, spiritual before material, from the Friulian myth of childhood.

This study seeks to show how Pasolini, publishing the above collection in the late 1950s, partly for reasons unrelated to him, but working on it unceasingly, accomplished a historical rereading of his own poetry in Italian before his move to Rome. In doing so, he offered an interpretation of his inner turmoil to the point of detachment, spiritual before material, from the Friulian myth of childhood.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
