Abstract
We explore the human journey behind a seminal work in the history of mathematics, authored by Andrej N. Kolmogorov and published in the proceedings of the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1954. This publication occurred against the dramatic backdrop of the Soviet regime during the months following Stalin's death. Researchers from both sides of the Iron Curtain, which had sharply divided the scientific community, found a unified voice through Kolmogorov’s fresh approach to unresolved problems in classical mechanics. Despite being overshadowed by modern theoretical physics and often relegated to engineering, classical mechanics embodied the essence of modern scientific thought.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
