This article presents a lexico-discursive analysis of two gender equality laws enacted in Spain and Italy between 2006 and 2007. Adopting an interlinguistic and comparative perspective, it examines how legislative language constructs and conveys representations of gender, revealing discursive, structural, and cultural differences between the two texts. Combining corpus linguistics and discourse analysis approaches, the study shows how the linguistic dimension —from lexis to discourse— both reflects and contributes to shaping different models of equality within the legislative domain.

Abstract
This article presents a lexico-discursive analysis of two gender equality laws enacted in Spain and Italy between 2006 and 2007. Adopting an interlinguistic and comparative perspective, it examines how legislative language constructs and conveys representations of gender, revealing discursive, structural, and cultural differences between the two texts. Combining corpus linguistics and discourse analysis approaches, the study shows how the linguistic dimension —from lexis to discourse— both reflects and contributes to shaping different models of equality within the legislative domain.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
