Dietro le quinte di «Scenario». D’Amico, Da Silva, De Pirro e gli accordi culturali tra Italia fascista e Germania nazista

In the backstage of «Scenario». D’Amico, Da Silva, De Pirro and the cultural agreements between fascist Italy and nazi Germany. Through the examination of certain dynamics within and outside «Scenario», an important theatre journal during fascist times, and tracing the activities of three people involved (its founders Silvio d’Amico and Nicola De Pirro, as well as Mario Da Silva, the correspondent from Germany), the article analyses the changes that occurred, during the fascist period, in the relationship between culture and politics, with particular reference to the connections with Nazism. This highlights the transition from a reality where cultural thought about theatre seemed to still have the chance to defend its autonomy, to forms of political conditioning of every cultural aspects, that had been a goal of Nazism from the start (as can be observed on the German magazine «Die Bühne») and that were increasingly adopted by Fascism during the second half of the Thirties.

Attraverso il filo di alcune dinamiche interne ed esterne a «Scenario», rivista centrale per il teatro negli anni del regime, e seguendo le attività di tre personalità che ne furono coinvolte – i fondatori, Silvio d’Amico e Nicola De Pirro, e Mario Da Silva, corrispondente dalla Germania – il saggio analizza i cambiamenti che attraversano, durante la dittatura fascista, il rapporto tra cultura e politica, con particolare riferimento al legame con il nazismo. Si evidenzia così il passaggio da una realtà dove il pensiero culturale sul teatro sembra ancora poter difendersi come entità autonoma, a quelle forme di condizionamento politico di ogni aspetto culturale che erano state meta del nazismo fin dal principio (come si osserva dalla rivista tedesca «Die Bühne»), e che il fascismo fa sue nella seconda metà degli anni Trenta in maniera sempre più sostanziale.
