Abstract
The research proposes a look at the city of Rome and the occurrence of sinkholes and hydrogeological instabilities with the creation of road surface subsidence that regularly affect urban life. We look at understanding these processes revealing that sealed surface failures that are manifestations of subsiding movements occurring beneath the asphalt surface. The ruptures are holistic events, both a result and an artefact of constant change. The soil accumulates the pressures of urban life and abruptly releases them to find equilibrium. Investigation captures these transitions, legitimises them, affirms processes and relationships, bringing them to the surface.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
