This work contains three comments related to different passages from L’interpretazione nel diritto, by Giorgio Pino. The first comment introduces some nuances regarding the assertion that certain consolidated interpretative practices can transform any text into a source of law. The second comment criticizes the alleged impossibility of observing (in reality) an integral formalism or substantialism, and also that this could be the reason for supporting the gradual nature of the distinction between formalist and substantialist legal ideologies. Finally, the third comment includes two observations related to the understanding of the literal argument and to the supposed implicit function of the literal interpretation within all interpretive legal arguments.
