A new method was proposed to evaluate balance strategies that utilizes commercial available systems. The human body model approximating the body segments through ellipsoids was developed. The hip rotation trial allows to identify the posture strategy adopted to keep the balance. The proposed method is able to estimate the trajectory of the typical kinematic variable, the center of mass, which gives the valuable informations to clinicians.

Abstract

A new method was proposed to evaluate balance strategies that utilizes commercial available systems. The human body model approximating the body segments through ellipsoids was developed. The hip rotation trial allows to identify the posture strategy adopted to keep the balance. The proposed method is able to estimate the trajectory of the typical kinematic variable, the center of mass, which gives the valuable informations to clinicians.
