The concept of learning as source of life began meaningful in the pedagogy of Giuseppina Pizzigoni and it is still relevant in educating teachers of infant and elementary schools. Pizzigoni (1870-1947) was a teacher who conceived and diffused a new school “La Rinnovata” (The Renewed School), still functioning in Milan (Italy) today. She wrote the fundamental guidelines for the school in 1907 and illustrated The Renewed school according to the experimental method in a public speech. From generation to generation teachers educated themselves according to the objective teaching, experimental method and the caring of the psycho-physical experience of the pupils. The paper aims to present the actuality of the old and still new pedagogy in the context of the contemporary school system, and it will give testimony of learning as source of life introducing researchers into the archives of teachers and children creations.

She wrote the fundamental guidelines for the school in 1907 and illustrated The Renewed school according to the experimental method in a public speech. From generation to generation teachers educated themselves according to the objective teaching, experimental method and the caring of the psycho-physical experience of the pupils.
