This study aims to understand the explicit evaluation of two different industrial design objects belonging to the category of the juicer, one traditional and one innovative, by a group of laypeople through a 5 points Likert scale. The traditional object is perceived more familiar, typical, simple and is preferred over the innovative one. These categories could be predictive of the aesthetic judgment.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the explicit evaluation of two different industrial design objects belonging to the category of the juicer, one traditional and one innovative, by a group of laypeople through a 5 points Likert scale. The traditional object is perceived more familiar, typical, simple and is preferred over the innovative one. These categories could be predictive of the aesthetic judgment.
