The essay examines the structural systems and techniques employed for the reinforcement of buildings developed to avoid, over the centuries, the destruction caused by frequent earthquakes in some regions of southern Mexico. Masonry buttresses and spurs were the most popular choice, especially in religious buildings.
Il saggio prende in esame i sistemi e le tecniche di consolidamento strutturale messi a punto per contrastare, nel corso dei secoli, le distruzioni causate dai frequenti terremoti in alcune regioni messicane del sud del Paese. Contrafforti e speroni murari costituiscono la scelta più diffusa, soprattutto negli edifici eccesiastici.
