For a better understanding of what is a noun and what is a verb, an analysis of the category of participles may be very useful. Participles present a constitutional ambiguity, very evident on the morphological level and even more interesting from a syntactic, semantic and pragmatic point of vue. These levels of analysis, in determining [+N] and [+V] feature, require taking into consideration various parameters, such as government, reference and predication function in the sentence, time-stability of phenomena in the real world and background and foreground function in texts.

Abstract
For a better understanding of what is a noun and what is a verb, an analysis of the category of participles may be very useful. Participles present a constitutional ambiguity, very evident on the morphological level and even more interesting from a syntactic, semantic and pragmatic point of vue. These levels of analysis, in determining [+N] and [+V] feature, require taking into consideration various parameters, such as government, reference and predication function in the sentence, time-stability of phenomena in the real world and background and foreground function in texts.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
