We investigate discrete propagation and self-localization of light in voltage-controlled arrays of channel waveguides realized in nematic liquid crystals. We review our results on discrete diffraction and discrete solitons, all-optical angular steering, multiband breathers and all-optical Zener tunneling in such one-dimensional photonic lattices. The experimental data are in excellent agreement with both coupled mode theory and numerical simulations.

Abstract
We investigate discrete propagation and self-localization of light in voltage-controlled arrays of channel waveguides realized in nematic liquid crystals. We review our results on discrete diffraction and discrete solitons, all-optical angular steering, multiband breathers and all-optical Zener tunneling in such one-dimensional photonic lattices. The experimental data are in excellent agreement with both coupled mode theory and numerical simulations.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
