Abstract

"The problem of locating pipe and conduits buried in the soil has been extensively investigated in recent years. Several promising methods using electromagnetic waves have been devised. In the present paper, an approach based on an array signal processing technique is presented, in which the directions of arrival of several sub-arrays are firstly computed and then analyzed by means of a statistical clustering method for extracting the object's location information. The approach is validated by means of numerical simulations, in which the directions of arrival of the scattered waves are obtained by using different methods. Comparisons are also provided."
