We have used a terrestrial laser scanner in static mode to run the topographic survey of the surface of a lane of an airport. In order to georeference the nurbs acquired from four scan stations we have used a GPS and a total station to survey a number of targets set on the edge of the runway. From each georeferenced point cloud we have generated a grid DEM (Digital Elevation Model). We have designed a software to extract longitudinal and transverse profiles from the DEM, to identify straight sections in each stratum and to calculate the slope using the least squares estimation of the parameters of the linear regression of the points of the profiles. We define operational procedures and calculations and we assess the accuracy of the results that may be obtained and we compare them with the ones obtained by traditional methods.
