this paper describes the research towards the development of an identification methodology for a FEM based model using a swarm-intelligence optimization algorithm. The model represent a workbench to study magnetic hysteresis, composed by a Round Rotational Single Sheet Tester, positioned in the middle of the stator of an induction motor. The geometrical shape of the structure is defined, and the model is completed by three constitutive parameters: the turns for each winding, the permeability of the stator and the angular displacement of the slots. To solve this identification problem, a modified version of the powerful optimization algorithm CFSO3 was used, taking into account the hybrid nature of the solution space (both continuous and discrete).
