In the present paper, a no-tension plastic model is proposed. Because of the no-tensile property, the stress tensor is constrained to belong to the set of negative semidefined second order tensors. The total strain is obtained as sum of the elastic, the fracture and the plastic strain. The mechanical and mathematical properties of the proposed model are investigated to assess the consistency of the model. Moreover, a numerical procedure is developed. The proposed model and the developed numerical procedures are used to study the behavior of some structural scheme.

Abstract

In the present paper, a no-tension plastic model is proposed. Because of the no-tensile property, the stress tensor is constrained to belong to the set of negative semidefined second order tensors. The total strain is obtained as sum of the elastic, the fracture and the plastic strain. The mechanical and mathematical properties of the proposed model are investigated to assess the consistency of the model. Moreover, a numerical procedure is developed. The proposed model and the developed numerical procedures are used to study the behavior of some structural scheme.
