In recent years, the participation in Retake – a non-partisan movement aiming to be the protagonist of urban regeneration and of active involvement of persons in the social and aesthetic improvement of public spaces - is constantly growing. Retake attracts enthusiastic people who contribute to expand its activities, joining in its vision of the future of our cities. This article examines the reasons for the growth of the movement, and the principles of law that constitute its basis and legitimates its activities, in an Italian-US legal perspective.
