"Structured light" is an emerging research field aiming at obtaining unusual amplitude and phase distributions of an optical beam, with potential applications ranging from manipulation of microscopic particles to communications or imaging systems. Typically confined to optical frequencies, it has recently been extended to microwaves but limited to the generation of an electromagnetic field with orbital angular momentum. In this contribution, we extend the possibility of generating structured fields at microwave frequencies to the case of an electromagnetic field with a Whim strip polarization state. In particular, by using the cavity model, we analytically show that the required phase and amplitude patterns can be obtained by superimposing the radiated fields generated by different modes of a patch antenna.
