The article analyzes the authorial variants in J.R. Jiménez’s poems «Cuarto» and «Danza cantada», from the autographs guarded in the “Fondo Jiménez” (Archivo Histórico Nacional, Madrid). The comparison with the editions shows the metamorphic character of the poetic act and allows to develop an analysis of the encountered phenomena as well as a comment, from the phonic and graphic aspects to the semiotic ones.
