Motivated by the problem of under-wing installation effects of modern turbofan engines, we study the interaction between a compressible subsonic jet and a tangential flat plate. We focus on the wall pressure fluctuation field generated by the jet on the surface. Experiments are conducted in order to measure and characterise the jet footprint on the plate. We analyse the wall pressure fluctuations in a systematic fashion addressing the effect of several parameters: the jet Mach and Reynolds numbers, the radial distance of the plate from the nozzle axis and the spatial location positions of the probes in the streamwise and spanwise directions. Wall pressure fluctuations are characterised in terms of their spectral and statistical contents. A wavelet analysis is performed as well to provide a clearer visualization of the wall pressure signatures induced by the jet on the surface.
