The comedies of Naevius, Cecilius Statius and Turpilius are fragmentary and are preserved only through indirect textual transmission. The present contribution aims at reconstructing the exploitation of these dramatic writers by analysing the uses and the functions of the fragments of their comedies in the sources that conserve them and that range from the first century BC to the beginning of the sixth century AD, with a special attention to Late Antiquity grammatical Latin works (Charisius, Diomedes and Priscianus) and to the de conpendiosa doctrina of Nonius Marcellus.

Abstract
The comedies of Naevius, Cecilius Statius and Turpilius are fragmentary and are preserved only through indirect textual transmission. The present contribution aims at reconstructing the exploitation of these dramatic writers by analysing the uses and the functions of the fragments of their comedies in the sources that conserve them and that range from the first century BC to the beginning of the sixth century AD, with a special attention to Late Antiquity grammatical Latin works (Charisius, Diomedes and Priscianus) and to the de conpendiosa doctrina of Nonius Marcellus.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
