In this paper, an optimization procedure of a circular coil for Electric Vehicle (EV) wireless charging is proposed. A Multi-Objective Optimization (MOO) problem is formulated with the aim to identify the Pareto front representing the coil geometry which ensures the best trade-off among transmission efficiency, cost, and weight. The optimization using copper and aluminum is evaluated and the results are compared A further comparison in terms of cost and transmission efficiency is made between solid copper and Litz wires.
