The paper deals with the connections between university courses and teaching (with special reference to the field of philosophy) and a) secondary schools, b) the job market. The first topic is discussed from three different perspectives: i) lifelong learning and new philosophy competencies for school teachers; ii) helping students to discover the interest and relevance of philosophy; iii) promoting effective teaching practices (among them, special relevance is given to the practice of debate, to the use of digital tools and contents – taking into account the experience acquired during the Covid-19 pandemics – and to the practice of augmented reading). The second topic is discussed with reference to the need for complexity-related skills: while the online ecosystem is still largely granular and fragmented, its evolution hints at the development of a much more complex, semantically oriented information environment, which requires precisely the kind of complexity-related competences and skills that philosophy may help to achieve.

Abstract
The paper deals with the connections between university courses and teaching (with special reference to the field of philosophy) and a) secondary schools, b) the job market. The first topic is discussed from three different perspectives: i) lifelong learning and new philosophy competencies for school teachers; ii) helping students to discover the interest and relevance of philosophy; iii) promoting effective teaching practices (among them, special relevance is given to the practice of debate, to the use of digital tools and contents – taking into account the experience acquired during the Covid-19 pandemics – and to the practice of augmented reading). The second topic is discussed with reference to the need for complexity-related skills: while the online ecosystem is still largely granular and fragmented, its evolution hints at the development of a much more complex, semantically oriented information environment, which requires precisely the kind of complexity-related competences and skills that philosophy may help to achieve.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
