For more than seven years, a translation workshop has been held at the University of Roma Tre, in which works of contemporary German-language literature are translated into Italian and then published. This is a form of project work that is part of the foreign language training and is designed to give students their first experience in the field of literary translation. Practical translation work is complemented by theoretical studies; following the publication of the translation, students can present their first work under their own name, which should help them to enter the profession. The seminar is part of the Master's programme ‘Lingue Moderne per la Comunicazione Interculturale’ (LM- 38), which aims to prepare students for a career as translators, among other things. This article focuses on the experience of translating Doris Dörrie's text "Die Welt auf dem Teller" (2020), but other works are also briefly discussed.

Abstract
This article focuses on the experience of translating Doris Dörrie's text "Die Welt auf dem Teller" (2020), but other works are also briefly discussed.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
