This paper describes the characteristics and the modulation strategy of a new multilevel multiplexed inverter topology for medium-voltage (MV) AC applications. It consists of two Flying Capacitor (FC) converters directly connected to the three-level Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) converter. This unique arrangement provides seven voltage levels and a symmetrical blocking voltage distribution. Furthermore, the main advantage of this configuration is that no filter elements are used between the flying capacitor and the NPC topologies. The analysis is supported by the simulation results and the Hardware-In-the-Loop tests.

Abstract
This paper describes the characteristics and the modulation strategy of a new multilevel multiplexed inverter topology for medium-voltage (MV) AC applications. It consists of two Flying Capacitor (FC) converters directly connected to the three-level Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) converter. This unique arrangement provides seven voltage levels and a symmetrical blocking voltage distribution. Furthermore, the main advantage of this configuration is that no filter elements are used between the flying capacitor and the NPC topologies. The analysis is supported by the simulation results and the Hardware-In-the-Loop tests.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
