Sistemi di logistica del materiale per la gestione dei rifiuti nelle strutture ospedaliere

The article has its origin from a research subject of a PhD thesis discussed in 2020, through which the peculiarities of the auxiliary activities in the hospital context were investigated in terms of spatialization of fl ows, dealing with the logistics systems of the material in the technologies for handling in and out of the hospital. The integration of the research program with direct investigation activities of Italian and European hospitals has allowed the in-depth knowledge of specific operational practices and processes, in terms of sustainability and consumption of resources, as well as optimization of functional performance. The contribution introduces issues by correlating them transversally with global sector data, signifi cant in terms of quality of such consumption and effi ciency. Subsequently, it frames the logistics of materials through the reference of management methodologies and technologies. Finally, it exposes a general framework for understanding the types of hospital waste and reports the operational fl ow in relation to the operating department.
