The essay starts to consider the contemporary condition of the most Mediterranean European areas are running over disposal because of economical deflation. The economic growing condition that has been so important in the develop of industrial areas and that has sustained the realization of many new residential settlement around them, today is no longer sustainable. Most of the contemporary European urbanized areas have developed along infrastructural axes taking on the characteristics of regional settlements. The void will be at the centre of the architectural and urban studies applying the demolition. By this way the void will be considered both as a concept and as a tool, betting on its intrinsic potentiality.
