The concept of energy community deals with electrical energy that is locally generated from renewable energy sources by installing photovoltaic panels or wind generators by some prosumers within the energy community. The energy excess compared with the consumption is injected in the upstream grid for economic benefits. The members of the community have flexibility in the energy use by installing storage systems and charging electric vehicles. The paper aims to present a way of working of an energy community in a residential complex of houses that invests in a semi-public system of charging stations, carport system with photovoltaic panels and storage of the energy produced. The environmental benefits and cost-benefit analysis of the project are presented.
