Stone Artefacts from the Roman age in Southern Latium

The project is based on an agreement between the German Archaeological Institute (DAI) of Rome and the University of Cassino and Southern Latium (UNICLAM), aimed at the implementation of a digital catalog of stone artefacts of the Roman age in the province of Frosinone using the Open-GIS platform of the Ancient History and Archaeology Research Lab (L.A.R.S.A.R.A.) and the Arachne system. The implementation of the project was made possible thanks to a research grant funded by the Province of Frosinone in favor of UNICLAM. The section of the DAI Rom Photo Library built between 1981 and 1984 for the ‘VW-Stiftung' collection offered the documentary base for the materials cataloged. In a second phase of the project, thanks to a contribution made available by the DAI Rome, the area of interest was extended to the province of Latina, so as to include all of southern Latium.
