In agriculture, UV-induced fluorescence as diagnostic tool has already been used to acquire information about photosynthesis, chlorophyll content and the presence of dangerous fungal species. After some researches in the scientific literature, we identified the UV/VIS fluorescence as the more promising tool for the detection of a new powdery mildew species. The aim of this research is to test an experimental setup based on a UV/VIS spectrometer on naturally infected hazelnut leaves affected by a new powdery mildew species. The validation of this technique for the detection of this disease could lead to the development of practical applications in this field.

Abstract
