In this paper is developed an optical sensor that uses a LED-photodiode system with the aim of detecting the presence of a possible flame inside the overhead bins of aircrafts. Since the flame emits radiation at different wavelengths from VIS to NIR to UV, they can be detected by the photodiode present in the sensor. This setup can then be regulated on a specific threshold that detects a possible anomaly caused by a flame, so immediately launching an alarm signal.

Abstract
In this paper is developed an optical sensor that uses a LED-photodiode system with the aim of detecting the presence of a possible flame inside the overhead bins of aircrafts. Since the flame emits radiation at different wavelengths from VIS to NIR to UV, they can be detected by the photodiode present in the sensor. This setup can then be regulated on a specific threshold that detects a possible anomaly caused by a flame, so immediately launching an alarm signal.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
