Un intruso tra le fonti di un grammatico? I loci plautini nell'ars Prisciani

This study aims to analyze the peculiar concentration of Plautine quotations in Priscians works. In most late antique grammatical works Plautus s auctoritas is associated with specific, already crystallized doctrinal issues. In Priscians case, however, the extensive use of Plautus — particularly to address specific needs for linguistic documentation (e.g., morphological forms of diminutives and adverbs, as well as the description of metrical structures in the De metris Terenti) — suggests that the grammarian possessed and, at times, annotated an edition of the comedies Varronianae.
