Defined as the inability to afford enough energy services to live a comfortable life, Energy Poverty is a very diffused phenomenon in European Union, with 10.6% of households unable to keep their homes adequately warm in 2023. This study aims at investigating the determinants of Energy Poverty using European NUTS2 regions by applying spatial statistical and econometric techniques, with a particular focus on identifying potential spatial patterns and regional interdependencies. The results obtained through this research may serve as a valuable resource for policymakers to tackle the phenomenon, contributing at the formulation of targeted public policies that promote more equitable and sustainable regional development, fostering social cohesion and reducing economic disparities among different areas.
