An IoT Node able to measure and collect airborne material has been designed, realized and tested. The device, based on the latest electronics technology for embedded systems, was designed to be economical, compact, portable, capable of providing real-time monitoring and transferring data to remote servers using Wi-Fi or LTE technology to store data for remote analysis. This makes the node also smart and fully implements an IoT node. The device uses component off-the-shelf COTS sensors and in particular the OPC N3 for particulate matter detection, and some preliminary measures have been implemented.

Abstract

An IoT Node able to measure and collect airborne material has been designed, realized and tested. The device, based on the latest electronics technology for embedded systems, was designed to be economical, compact, portable, capable of providing real-time monitoring and transferring data to remote servers using Wi-Fi or LTE technology to store data for remote analysis. This makes the node also smart and fully implements an IoT node. The device uses component off-the-shelf COTS sensors and in particular the OPC N3 for particulate matter detection, and some preliminary measures have been implemented.
