The project focuses on advancing single amplification stage resistive MPGD technology, specifically Micromegas, for stable operations at particle rates up to 10 MHz/cm2. Key efforts include miniaturizing readout elements, optimizing spark protection, and ensuring robustness during operation. The characterization and performance studies of small-size prototypes are conducted using radioactive sources and an X-rays generator, with the detectors operated with various gas mixtures. Test beam results for a medium-sized detector (400 cm2) and preliminary results on a full-scale module (50×40 cm2) are presented. Preliminary results on a capacitive sharing technique for reducing readout channels while maintaining spatial resolution for low to medium rate applications are also reported.

Abstract
The project focuses on advancing single amplification stage resistive MPGD technology, specifically Micromegas, for stable operations at particle rates up to 10 MHz/cm2. Key efforts include miniaturizing readout elements, optimizing spark protection, and ensuring robustness during operation. The characterization and performance studies of small-size prototypes are conducted using radioactive sources and an X-rays generator, with the detectors operated with various gas mixtures. Test beam results for a medium-sized detector (400 cm2) and preliminary results on a full-scale module (50×40 cm2) are presented. Preliminary results on a capacitive sharing technique for reducing readout channels while maintaining spatial resolution for low to medium rate applications are also reported.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
