The paper intends to present a new edition of the hexametric inscription on the sarcophagus discovered at Iuvanum in 1981. The hederae distinguentes suggest the possibility to date the sarcophagus not before the II century AD. The inscription presents the parents M. Titatius Rufus and Verania Severa dedicating the sarcophagus and the verses to their son Celer, who is dead in his youth. The names of the parents indicate an Italico-Sabine origin of their families. The sarcophagus represents at the moment the only funerary find from the Roman Municipium of Iuvanum (Ch-Italy).
