This article discusses the application of genetic algorithms (GAs) combined with a gradient descent (GD) for optimizing Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) systems in microsatellites. Traditional power transfer methods, such as slip-rings, face significant challenges in space environments due to mechanical wear and maintenance issues. The introduction of WPT technology, particularly through inductive coupling, presents a viable alternative that eliminates mechanical contacts, thus enhancing system reliability and longevity. By employing GAs and GD in conjunction with MATLAB and Simulink simulations, we aim to optimize the performance of WPT systems for microsatellite applications, focusing on efficiency and weight reduction.

Abstract

This article discusses the application of genetic algorithms (GAs) combined with a gradient descent (GD) for optimizing Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) systems in microsatellites.
